To wander through the village of Great Missenden itself where the author lived from 1954 to his death in 1990 is to understand some of the influences on his writing The BP pumps at 64 High Street inspired the description of the garage in Danny the Champion of the World while the timberframed building at Crown House 70 High Street was Dahls inspiration for Sophies norphanage in The BFG. Ahead lies many nights of rigourous editing to get our entry down to the maximum allowable 6 minutes.
